I organise networking get togethers on behalf of the local Outeniqua Tourism Association – for our March 2015 get together a few of my B&B friends accompanied me on a visit to the local coffee roasters who supply me with freshly ground coffee on a weekly basis. Root Coffee is a Micro Roastery in the heart of the Garden Route, run by husband and wife team Andre & Tanya Prins. They share a passion for great coffee, and have made it their goal to always supply the FRESHEST coffee, clearly stating the roasting date on the packs.  Affordability is very important, without compromising in quality. Their hands on approach and attention to detail in every step of the process (from buying, roasting, packaging to delivery and customer service) insures a consistent, quality product every time.

We learned that it is important to order the correct ground for the method you use: the coffee needs to be coarsely ground for plunger method opposed to a finer grind for coffee made with a Bialetti or percolator. They also explained the importance of using freshly ground coffee for that perfect cup. Of course there was also time to chat about our guest houses and to enjoy a good cup of coffee after sampling some sweet treats by Stephanie Roetz of Lime Ribbon Bakery.
